Thank you..
Hi Janelle,
Thank you for the information. I will be babysitting Lizzy while her mom runs some errands in the morning so I won't be able to hear this. It's nice to see you post, as I've been wondering how things have been with you. Hope you are having a good summer and doing well.

I'm good Maggie. Just enjoying being home. I still can't do a lot, but it's better than being stuck in a motel room at Hope Lodge LOL.
How are you?

Beth...my chemo brain also failed me that day. I accepted an outing with a friend for lunch and while out I then remembered! the ol' saying "better late, than never" didn't count here, but at least they post the recordings later.

Sue, I haven't posted for a while mainly because I've been recovering from surgery for a colon rupture from a 'simple colonoscopy'!! I now have a 8" vertical scar that goes right through my belly button. I laid in the emergency room for almost 11 hours. they kept bumping me as other's had a more serious emergency! my poor husband who sat beside me that whole day concerned that my bloated stomach from the leak in my colon may cause other unknown damage! needless to say we wanted to sue the entire ER staff! but, I'm healed now and am doing a few situps to hopefully get my stomach back in shape. ugh!
Maggie, don't you hate it when you miss these awesome podcasts!? I'm glad they record them and post later. I noticed the sound quality isn't as good, but it's ok.
Hugs!

Dear Janelle,
I too, can't believe the doctor punctured you during a routine colonscopy. May I ask you,
did you have this procedure in a colonscopy medical practice, or in a hospital???? I am scheduled for a colonscopy this Sept. I am scheduled to have it done in a hospital. Although rare, having this procedure done in a hospital envirement is safer if anything should happen. My friend had a terrible reaction from anestesia years ago in one of those medical practices. Now, she has it done in a hospital.
Janelle, you could of died. Sorry. Not sure if you remember?? My small bowel perforated in Sept 2009 which was caused by NHL. I had a CT scan, and was rushed, I say rushed into surgery to have my small bowel resected. Anything leaking from that area in our body is poison. I can't believe they made you wait 11 hours because they thought there were more serious emergencies.
My thoughts to everyone. Even though a doctor may tell you, or insist, it is safe to have colonscopies in a medical practice that specializes in colonscopies. A hospital is more prepared for emergenices, not to have you transported to a hospital in case something goes wrong.
So glad everything turned out well for you. So sorry for what you went through. Love Maggie0 -

Janelle,
I am so sorry that you've had to go through this. I have an appointment, in August with a cool-rectal surgeon and then a colonoscopy to follow. I have had some abdominal surgeries and fear a perforation during a colonoscopy. They say it's rare but, I've heard of it happening too frequently. It sounds very scary! Heal up quickly!,

Hi Kellie, I'm now doing situps to get my stomach back in shape, so am a bit sore from that. Otherwise I'm healing up good. the staples left their mark too, so my stomach looks like alittle toy tractor tire drove over it! my husband doesn't mind and still thinks I'm sexy, so that's all that matters to me!
Hugs
