out of surgery and back home
Just got out of the hospital after the right breast mascetomy (still can;t spell) and resting at home. Was able to look at the surgery area without too much trama. Sore under the arm but doing the exercises that they gave me in the hospital. So relieved that this part of the journey is now behind me!

So glad to hear your doing so well. I had a left mastectomy last yr. June 1st.and that really was the easiest part of this journey.are you suppose to be doing exercise so soon?did you do them in the hospital? i had to wait until a couple of weeks before i could start but Dr's are all different so "if" the Dr. said you could do it listen,I know you get a lot of good advice on the boards but we are all different and our cancers are different. 3 days after surgery I;m getting hit with the blues...physically doing well but emotionally drained out...anxious waiting for pathology report on Friday....and sick and tired of having cancer! I initially felt relieved and positive after the surgery and now I feel like I just want the whole thing to be over,,,,need to go into radiation next month...still need to get my port out if I don;t need any more chemo...overall feel whiny and ungrateful and lousy!feels like this journey will never end and that life will never go back to "normal". feels like all my positive energy is exhausted and all I want to do is lay in bed and be miserable.

Resting is definitely a good idea. You've been through so much these past few months and it is natural to feel like it's never going to end but it is going to end. You WILL start to feel better. I've been through chemo, surgery and rads...4 weeks out of rads and my energy level is pretty much back to normal most days. You will feel better too I guarantee it! Keep the faith! And if you feel like whining to us, go right ahead. We're all there for you! Barb0 -

Now--relax, rest and let others pamper you. Use this time to catch up on old movies, books, music. Even indulge in a hot fudge sundae or something yummy. Take good care.
