On a happy note. Den is home and doing pretty good. I posted to Traci post about seeds of joy. It is so nice to hear him gently snoring in the next room. Music to my years.

STEF!!!!! Oh sweet sister! I am in utter shock and disbelief reading you post! On the one hand I have an inkling of how it feels to think we just can't have to battle the beast again after such a long time ( I as you know, was rediagnosed after 8 years of Dancing With NED)...but OMG sweet Stef~ your Den!!!! I am so glad that progress has already been made ~ may he continue to improve and get ever stronger. You are in the thoughts, prayers and enveloped by the courage and strength that all of the Kindred Spirits have to offer.
Thanks for letting us know...((((((((hugs))))))

I am praying for you and your husband. I pray that your husband will recover fully! And, keep us posted as to what goes on with your health Stef.

Den is home! I am so happy for both of you! And, he will get better and stronger with each day! I just know it! And, you will be dancing with NED again! So, keep your shoes polished and ready to go.
Many prayers for both of you!0 -
Awww, dear Stef...
Heartbreaking to find this thread tonight. Am so very, very sorry for this horrible double whammy - your recurrance (deep sigh...) and your beloved Den's stroke.
However, I'm also cheered to read of Den's improvements. Good news! Will sincerely hope it continues. And I will HOPE with all my heart that you'll beat the damnable beast back into submission once again.
Sending cyberhugs and fervent prayers.
Kindest regards, Susan0 -

You and hubby are on the prayer list. Now for a hint.
Once the food is pureed you can freeze part of it for later. For babies they do it in ice cube trays and pull out and thaw as many as needed for the baby. Well of course you will want a bigger container for your husband. It will cut down on the work over the long haul if you can do this.0 -

Laughs a Lot,
Thank you for the hint. My Denise did all her babies food so she told me the same thing. Right now I am doing each one to find those that he likes and eats well. When I know one I will be making more and freezing it. So much less work. I really appreciate your mentioning this also. He is liking the broccoli, green beans, peas, pears with tuna (go figure that one, chicken, cream of wheat, bananas. He tried a tofu with terriyaki but thought he would like it with less terriyaki. All in all he is good about whatever I am fixing. If anyone knows any good foods to puree especially proteins please IM me.
Again, the words of encouragement, support and prayer mean so much. The home health nurse came and tomorrow occupational therapy comes. he will also be seeing speech and physical therapist and a medical social worker. We opted out of home aide right now but can add it if the need arises. I am very grateful for our health coverage as this is all covered at no cost to us. We are working at this day by day. I may not post very frequently but will try to give updates occasionally.
Love to all my sisters. You are so dear to me.

Stef, our dearest friend,
Stef, our dearest friend, David, had a stroke a few years ago. He was very confused and garbled at first. He thought he had been "shot." Turns out the stroke was from an arrhythmia and he is now managed with meds. He is doing fine now and only his closest friends would even realize he ever had a problem (he rarely confuses a word now).
I am praying Den will do as well. Thank goodness you reacted so quickly!
David's rehab took a long time (6 mos to a year?), so hang in there. And please take care of yourself too. I am so, so sorry that you are going through this. Please pm me if you need anything! Praying for you both.0 -
