muscle and joint aches (cachexia?)

in Lung Cancer #1
hi everyone my husband had small cell lung cancer and is currently involved in a clinical trial. he has lost a substantial amount of weight and lost alot of muscle mass he also has been having alot of diarhhea his doctors have done alot to combat these things but to no avail his pain is getting worse. his cancer has not spread as his last cat scan showed (2 weeks ago) that everything is shrinking. i have researched these things muscle and joint aches loss of muscle etc... and what i found is disturbing something called cachexia has anyone of you had this or know anything about it? he is truely looking like he is wasting away and they say there is not much they can do to combat this. any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou tracy
