Anniversary
Basketcase here. Just thought I'd report that it has been rough; this being our first wedding anniversary since Charlie passed away. It was a pretty good day; but very rough. I did see Mr.Popper's Penguins. It is a cute movie and I enjoyed it. Good thing I had a gift card though. It was $9 for the ticket and 12.25 for the combo for popcorn and coke and that was medium size! I did finally find the rest of our wedding pictures and did scan them in on my computer so right now that's my background and screen saver. I just finished listening to the CD from Charlie's service where his brother Steve and I spoke. One of things Steve said was "Charlie was a person for whom the cup was always half full - never half empty and how from the time he was first diagnosed, he never complained or questioned why me? That is so true and I think so true of all you survivors out there that I've met on this website. Y'all are truly a special breed of character that's for sure. Anyway when I listened to what I said at his service and at the end I read the poem, "Miss Me But Let Me Go". It's a good poem and I think says a lot of what Charlie would say to me and I certainly miss him, but I can't totally let go! The end says, "When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds, miss me but let me go. I consider y'all friends (my csn buds) and I hope I've done a good deed in my posts and that maybe, just maybe, some of my posts have brightened somebody's day, but y'all my friends are the ones that have done the good deeds, by being there and having the courage to share your journeys and most importantly y'all have been there for me and y'all will never know how much comfort you've been and still are to me. Thanks so much and I love y'all and as always God Bless!

$12.25 for the popcorn combo
That's outrageous Jan, however do you pay those extravagant prices. I hope extra butter was included. I'm a joshing you of course! How wonderful that you were out for a movie. A simple pleasure for sure and certainly one that you deserve. I really don't think you ever have to let go of the memory of your Charlie but his wisdom of letting go of the physical is true. Your posts are enlightening and educational in the real sense of the word. I think you will become the resident expert on dealing with caretaker survivorship. I'm so sorry for the popcorn prices but grateful you continue to post among friends.0 -
Anniversary Memories
Hi Jan,
I'm sure you have tons of those memories to draw above on...Charlie prepared you well for life after. I'm sure that he knew his time with you will always be with you. The little life lessons that you might not have realized at the time, are the tools you are now using.
I'm glad that you are getting on, Charlie will be missed but never forgotten.
Best Always,

i understand this is a sad time for you & wished to let you know how much I admire you. Charlie & you were both so lucky to have each other & all of the great memories that you shared together. I know you cherish each & every moment of them.Keeping busy with family & friend's is so important to help you through these difficult times. We are all here for you & I also love reading your post's. I have been off for a bit with a sore arm, my typing arm lol but still read all of the post's & to check on how everyone is doing. I simply wanted to wish you my best. Also they charge around the same here for a movie, popcorn & a soft drink. But we do have a cheap Tuesday night lol.
God bless

Great Picture Jan
Well a picture says a million words. I don't know where you get your strength. Charlie will always be with you in spirit and he would want you to enjoy life. My loss is never having known him but in a way I do know him through your posts. You both look so happy in your wedding picture. Remember it's understandable that you will have some sad days ahead but Charlie is only waiting patiently for you to join him in Heaven someday! Love you, Homer & Connie0 -

Gift Cards Are Good Things
Movie prices are insane! Here, we have a "cheap seats" theatre that shows movies a little later than the others - but the food and drinks are still pricey.
Glad yesterday seemed as good as it could be, under the circumstances. Still, I'm sorry you had to celebrate the day without Charlie. I'm with the others, it's very kind of you to continue to be active on this site - a lot of people might feel they could not be reminded constantly of the hateful disease - some people might think that since their loved one did not find a cure in their lifetime, they had no interest in being involved in the battles of others. Your desire to help others in the hopes that things might go better for them than for you says a lot.0
