Hi Pepe and all - Yup, still here too! It is finally summer (at least according to the calendar but not the local weather! although the mosquitoes are out in full force) and so I try to get out with my pup as often as I can before winter sets in again! And chemo week (which this is) keeps me busy managing the side effects). Also, some of us are trying to set up a new Discussion Board for Peritoneal Cancer (primary and secondary). See my posts under Rare and Other Cancers.
Treatment 4 is tomorrow and hopefully the side effects will continue to be manageable although the fatigue is coming more frequently. I am trying to get guarana pills or powder here in Canada but no luck so far - only in energy drinks and energy pill mixtures. Getting exercise helps though.
Speaking of - time to walk Charlotte!

Hey Cheryl, do you have a Zehrs in your area....the Zehrs where I am have quite the selection of juices, they had the mangosteen, etc. (they have a small health food section by the pharmacy in our store, don't know if all the Zehrs are the same, but if you have one check there.0 -

Hi: I don't think in London (Ontario) but we have a wonderful health food store called QuarterMaster that has mangosteen juice (a super antioxidant that my oncologist won't let me have until chemo is over), L-glutamine, etc. Huge selection. Thanks! I'll see where the nearest Zehr's is because I know I've seen them around.

I googled Zehrs, seems to be all around London, but doesn't seem to be one actually in London. I think Zehrs is owned by Great Canadian Superstores...don't know if they have the selection. Mangosteen is a fruit juice wonder why he doesn't want you to have it, what if this was a regular part of your diet prior to your diagnosis?? Has he said no to other juices?? I actually saw the Quartermaster website, looks interesting as they prepare foods too. We have a health food store in Newmarket, it was a large grocery store and they just at one time had a small part of the store with supplements...now they've taken over the whole store with all sorts of holistic (or is it wholistic) goodies, everything a normal grocery store has but all good for you natural products, organic vegetables, drinks that I didn't even know existed!!! Bonus is they also put out a large buffet type spread, you take a plate and fill up what you want as a meal, everything from sandwitches, salads, hot foods, sushi, some grilled tofu things that look really good (haven't tried these yet but one day I will). They had these grilled pears on the salad section the other day, they looked so good topped with blackberries, and coconut.0
