Chemo and Advil side effects

It's been awhile since I've been on this website. You have been so helpful and reassuring to me that I now have a question that might sound silly.

I have arthritis in my legs and at times the pain is terrible. My Dr. knows this so it really never entered my mind that taking cisplatin and cpt 11 may cause some leg pain. I found that taking advil seemed to help me. In the last week or so I've found large black and blue spots on one leg. When I mentioned it to my Dr. and casually said I was taking advil, he said advil and chemo can cause black and blue marks. They don't hurt, but was wondering has anyone experience this?
