Fear and... Can I believe this.
Went to the doc today..he looked down my throat and saw no cancer!!!!! Well, I can tell you that I am thrilled! Just thinking (tho it is 12 something a.m.) that I just might be able to sleep through the night. Yay!
To those of you that are feeling fear or insecurity at all; I understand as most everyone here understands. It is ok to feel this way and even more ok to express your fear even though you may be totally rational about what is happening. For me it's being able to express in words that I'm afraid, plain scared; just to get that truth out and know that where I'm putting it out, I'll be understood, commiserated with. We all open our arms and hearts to one another and it truly is comforting.
I believe it's going to take a little or alot more time for me to accept all of this that just happened in my life in the last four months. Hey, I'm workin' on it, ok!
I'm a beginner at this, though I cannot imagine anyone who can be honest and say they're pros. This has touched my life in so many ways; I suppose I should be more patient...like I said, still learning. But I DO know that There is much more love in my life than I knew (or acknowledged) and I am so fortunate for that.
Thanks also for all of you that have helped me. John, Hondo, Sweet, etc. you know.
What a gift we are to one another!

Get Some Sleep, LOL...
Glad that you can sleep easy tonight.... It seems to work best for me the day of getting good news on scans.
Like you, even though I'm two years post treatment. It's hard not to have anxiety concerning scan results. Even little subtle changes, aches and pains. things that never bothered me before because I knew eventually they'd go away...until one day they didn't.
Now if I have aches or pains in the area of my throat and it persists more than a few days...I start getting concerned.
Sleep well, hope you will get several good nights and rest worry free.
Best,

checkup
Thanks everyone! I had a pretty good night last night. Woke up during the night as usual, but instead of staying awake for hours I actually went back to sleep!! Ah, Bliss. The simple things in life...like you said, not so simple anymore.
I did not have a scan yesterday, the doc just looked at my throat and said he would see me in six months. I asked him about a PET scan and he said he didn't think it is necessary at this time because he does not see any cancer. I'm cool with that, no doubt, but can anyone help squelch my paranoia about not having the scan? Has anyone had a similar checkup?0 -

Congrats on the great appointment! Nothing really squelched my paranoia like having the Doc/team that I trust tell me that we're on the right course and there's no evidence of disease.0 -

That is great when the doctor does not see anything to worry about, See you in 6 months that too is good news.
