Your Father smoked -
I went through natural menopause at 44. Mom had gone through an early meonpause so I figured that it was just family related - however she was aneortic and I wasn't. My Daddy was a smoker.
So any thought - does it possibly apply to you?

No
My generation's parents all smoked. Both of my parents smoked. So did I until 20 years ago. I had my last period when I was 57. Thought it would never end.

I don't know. Haven't seen
I don't know. Haven't seen the study, but I'll take a look at it. Interesting.
However, I attribute my early menopause (40's) more to chemo/surgery/tamoxifen. My older sister, the only sister who has not had cancer, just finished menopause and she is 60. My younger sister who also had chemo/surgery/tamoxifen also went through menopause early.0 -
Hmmm...
My parents smoked like chimneys. I had wicked asthma (and told it must have been psychosomatic since it all but vanished when I moved out at 18). I went thru natural menopause, I think a little early at 50, but had 1 period each year til 52. My mother had natural menopause at 42.

Also NO~ I was dx'd at 53 and was still having the periods from hell~ I was considering surgical intervention when ( aren't I lucky??) I was dx with cancer and chemo put an abrupt end to my periods. Both of my parents smoked, as did their parents...and I never did! As they say, go figure! LOL0 -

I've never heard of this. My Father is the only one that smoked. None of my grandparents did.0
