who juicers ?
daily morning tea, with my champion 2000 beet, carrot, celery, brussel, brocolli, tumeric, ginger, garlic, spinach. sometimes with apple, red/black grapes and seeds, orange, pinapple. all my juices taste like crap.
happy with juicer but i need extra attachment to do wheatgrass celery.
had it for 5 months now. best xmas present i got myself.
i am not into organics but wash all the veg.

As I mentioned before I juice every day sometimes twice. I used to have a green star which is similar to the champion however the champion does not do wheatgrass and a slower auger juicer produces less oxidatiojuice the juice in order to get the most out of the juice, that said a champion is a good start. By the way it makes the best bannana ice cream. I Make it for my wife because as you know I am on a no fruit diet for another couple of months. Just freeze the bananas peel them first obviously and run them through the champion using the blank blade( no screen) it will come out creamy and delicous, trust me it will shock you how simple and yummy it is.
I wish I could have the juice you make sounds tasty to me.
Mine is simple, organic celery cucumber sprouted sunflower and ginger 12 oz in the morning and when I have time I make one in the after noon, better to make fresh though. Congrats on the juicing turmeric is a great cancer buster also are you using fresh turmeric root?0 -

I started juicing when first diagnosed (thanks to Scouty and 2bhealed) and have juiced daily since then (about 2 1/2 years). I even took my juiced on vacation!
I have a Breville that is awesome at juicing the harder fruits and vegetables but think I should also invest in a masticating juicer.
My standard juice always includes carrots, celery, cucumbers and green apples. In top of that I will put in whatever is in the fridge, trying to typically use mostly vegetables as opposed to fruits. I have put in pears, whole lemons, kale, broccoli, broccoli rabe, red cabbage, watermelon, ginger, spinach (my juiced will get some juice but need to use large volume to get small amount of juice, green and red lettuce, tomatoes and sometimes Barleen's greens.
I live juicing and it's a staple for menalong with a minimum of medium to intense cardio every single day (yep, even on vacation). I can get my kids o try it and they haven't been too keen yet but many times when the baby asks for juice I just throw two apples and a carrot in the juicer and give her that as opposed to store-bought juice.

I juice everyday, I bought a Breville on advise of my naturopath, medium motor not the commercial one. More tasty if you ad fruit,always add lemon, but then omit the garlic.
However, I am of for a week vacation to Montreal, Quebec Canada and will have to take V8 low sodium instead for a week.Fruit twice a day just like the juice, I take fruit cups when away and my probiotic pills. lots of turmeric and ginger and a little splurge of Agava to make it sweeter.I was also told to take a tbls a day of virgin olive oil, good for the colon, I either add it in the juice or over a salade or over my salmon . drink lots of water with lemon.

my kids also prefer fresh apple than the store, i explained it lasts forever on the shelf it cannot be natural. now melanie 9years old does her own apple jiuce.

Juicing most every day
since May '09 thanks to Scouty and 2BHealed as well (thanks you two!). Favorite blend is cabbage, celery, carrot to which I'll add beet or broccoli or apple or other. Try to get everything organic. Wheat grass juice daily too. Also will drink fermented beet juice. I have an Omega juicer. Would also like a Vitamix because of its ability to crush almonds etc. and a dehydrator to help with doing raw food snacks but $$ is a limiting factor. Get along OK now.

I'm a raw food chef so a vitamix is a must for me as well as an Excalibur dehydrator 9 tray as you said it is great to make snacks an I make fresh almond milk and cheeses from it. As great as all these equipment are, the closer I stay to it's natural form the better that food is for me, so other then making dressing and almond milk I don't really use those items too much. I use them for when I do cooking demos for people that are wanting to transition in to raw foods and need more comfort foods like nut cheeses and crackers etc.
The blend tech is also pretty good too:)

Hey Pete, can't recall where I read this, have been searching on line so much it's mind boggling, But......read somewhere turmeric is best absorbed with black pepper?? Also read somewhere (don't know where, duh, again) best absorbed with an oil too, omega...I got flaxseed. I really need to start to book mark these things, again I'm blond what can I say Leena0 -

I use a lot of almond milk because of a dairy sensitivity. Thanks for confirming that I'm probably fine with what I'm doing (have to buy a lot of almond milk to justify expense :-).

It's probably a great thing you are alegic to dairy and I won't get into too much of why as I Think I have made that point quite clear in other posts. To add to the almond milk issue, when I get lazy and don't make raw almond milk from scratch I buy almond breeze unsweetened kind as ib Don't eat any sugar. Tastes great I actually have a raw protien powder called sun warrior I take it with but it is kind of expensive. Anyway the almond breeze you can get for about 2$ a quart and it is good stuff:)

Can you juicers tell us about your Energy levels ? There are a lot of people on these boards suffering fatigue (among many other things). If the change in diet and juicing can help restore energy, then some more folks might think about trying this.
I had a dramatic change in energy when I changed diet, (including some juicing). I don't juice every day but 2-3 times a week. I do about 40-70% raw foods these days. From suffering chronic fatigue for 15+ years, I am now bright eyed and bushy tails all day unless I have really bad sleep.

I do juicing, probably not as much as I should, using the Montel Williams Healthmaster blender. Don't lose any of the pulp or anything.
My naturopath gave me what she calls a "quick anti-cancer juice."
beetroot (about half)
celery (about 20 percent)
carrot (about 20 percent)
potato (about 3 percent)
radish (about 2 percent)
She suggests straight cabbage juice (red is best).

I eat about 98% raw foods and there is no question that raw foods increases energy levels for me. I nevr feel heavy when eating raw food because it is easily assimilated by the body and does not tax digestion. Your body uses a lot of energy digesting cooked food that's why you may feel really tired after a big meal. Increasing salads in your diet and green juices should increase energy levels significantly. Green smoothies can also help with energy levels also.

It goes without saying that I juice every day. I lost my virginity many years ago when my sister, who was dying of Stage IV cancer of the small intestine, saw a JuiceMan infomercial and dragged me to his seminar. The rest, they say, is history.
My daily grind presently is:
1 lb carrots (at least)
lg wedge of cabbage (red or green)
2 lg kale leaves
4-5 romaine leaves
flax seeds
When I was healing my cancer, way back when, my concoction was:
1-2 lbs carrots
1 granny smith apple
handful parsley
handful spinach
1 celery stalk
small chunk ginger
sometimes added:
beets & greens
cukes
Always added:
green powder (kyo-green, Green Magma, Barleans Greens etc)
fractionated fruit pectin
flax seed
My juices never taste bad, ever. Why don't you experiment with the concoctions so they taste great? I enjoy (crave) my juice on the same level that coffee addicts enjoy their morning cup o' joe. (or latte) Seriously.
From what I've read, it's best to not combine the fruits with the veggies (exception is with apples).
I used to use a JuiceMan juicer (not the kind you buy at Target) and then post dx my mother bought me a Champion which is what I have used just about every day for the past 10 years.
Just to clarify--using a blender is not juicing. Juicing is extracting the juice (nutrients) from the fiber (pulp). The whole point to juicing is that extracting frees up the plethora of nutrients so the body does not have to do the work during digestion freeing up the system to focus on healing one's diseased organs.
I don't think I could blend 2 pounds of carrots plus all the other veggies and chew it down. But with juicing, you get the optimal amount of easy to assimilate nutrition.
But congrats to all the juicers on here. YAY!

I juice too
I have a Champion juicer and juice every day. I am positive that it has helped me feel better while undergoing chemo because I can feel the difference in my energy level. I am trying to get all my extended family to juice as well. Thanks Scouty and Emily for getting me started!

Do not eat regular apples if you have cancer, or not. Apples are the worst when it comes to pesticides getting under the skin. Organic Apples!!!0 -

Not near as much as I used to especially this time of year with all the fresh veggies.
My new favorite discovered last year is made with a blender and is so good!
I don't use exact measurements but:
cut up cleaned ripe tomato
2 inch chunk of peeled cucumber
1 1/2 inch sliver of green pepper
minced garlic
1 inch sliver of sweet onion (vidalia this time of year)
glop of red wine vinegar
glop of olive oil
sea salt and pepper to tast
Blend until all chopped up and drink it down. I actually make this as an appetizer in shot glassess and call it Gaspatcho shots.
I'm also into smoothies after my runs with different flavored greek yogurts as a base.
My favorite juice drink are carrot, celery, ginger, cabbage. I added beets when I was fighting the beast and will add it every once in a while.
