Things are not always what they seem...
an amazing day. I had the honor of listening to world class musician
Yo Yo Ma in the park. He gave a lecture first, what an inspiration! He
was playing with musicians from all over the world - they called themselves
the silk road ensemble. I wish I could tell you about the lecture in detail but
that would take too long. In short though Yo Yo Ma got the idea for this
ensemble from his Cello. He found out how all the components to make
his instrument came from all over the world, Acacia tree from lebanon,
curry powder for the coloring, from india etc. So he got musicians from
all over the world.
So when I was at the lecture, I thought about how lucky I was to be there. Then
I thought I did not want to pollute this amazing experience with thoughts of
cancer and I was looking at the heavy old fashioned door of the Yale lecture
room. For everyone who saw me at this time, it would have looked like I was
expecting someone and looking to see if he/she is coming in. But what I was
really doing is envisioning leaving cancer outside, shutting the heavy old fashioned
door and shutting cancer out of my beautiful day. One day at a time.....
Take care sisters and make it a beautiful day!!!
PS I flirted with three engineers....hihi

Perhaps, it will stay out Glad you had a wonderful time and appreciated the lecture and musicians. Your post reminds me of how often we judge or perceive things and how we are likely wrong Like the flirting!

Okay, I'm just really shallow...
Ayse, your words about your special day are beautiful and philosophical and inspiring and all that....except that all I REALLY want to know about is your last sentence!
Were they cute? Are they single? Were any phone numbers exchanged?
Details, girl -- we want DETAILS!

(I loved your telling of your day...and yes, the more barriers to keep cancer out, the better!)0 -
So happy you left all those
So happy you left all those negatives behind that very large door, and at Yale no less. Sans cancer I think I want to be you in my next life but with red hair. You are doing the things "you want to do" because "you did what you had to do", per our loving pink sister Chen. Ayse you are the envy of my day!! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and now please tell - how cute were those 3 engineers? Hugs0 -
You are the proverbial icing
You are the proverbial icing on our lifes cake!!! (To those of you who may have missed it, when I had exquite pleasure of meeting Ayse,MissRenee, ELM and MaryAnn in Phoenix, my Reggie said that Ayse looks like a supermodel! Which she does....)
Therefore, I am having no trouble at all envisioning our vibrant, full of life, GORGEOUS Ayse absorbing all that life has to offer~ and adding flirting into the mix! You rock, Ayse!!! Love the analogy Yo Yo Ma brought to the lecture...but truly loved knowing you are where you want to be.
Hugs,
Chen♥0 -

You want a saucy dish?
I can deliver... LOL (:
I'll have you you know that the 3 engineers were out staged by a very
cute scientist - who loves life and has the smile to prove it. He's a hot
little number, from New York, but Puerto Rican so a NuahyerKorican..
as we used to call them.
So last night he invited me for dinner, yes he cooks.. and we had so much
fun talking. Engineers? What engineers.. there they went. And get this, he
loves music, he can sing just about any song and he taught me salsa.. great
dancer, what I can say.. there went the defenses.. and I could tell he liked me
and I wanted him to know up front, so I told him and these were his astonishing
words: " So you were ill, so what? That's behind you now.. as far as I am
concerned I think you are one in a million and I waited long enough, do you
really think I would let this chance pas me by?" YES.. I cried
I think I am liking Connecticut - in one week I feel more home here than I
have in six years in AZ.
I love that I am able to share this with you all .. you are my sister and I
don't feel like I have to hold back. If anything we have a very special bond
that allows me to open up to you more than even my real sisters because
you can relate like no one else can.
Sending you LOOVE,love,love

You are making me blush...
How very sweet of you and Reggie to say. But as you can imagine- I did not feel very sexy
for a while. And just now I am realizing it wasn't really my looks, it was the way I felt that
left me feeling unsexy, I never cared about look all that much. I tried to model myself by
looking at people I admired and the traits that I loved about them. There are several of those
people on this board and you dear Chen, yes you are one of them.
To me sexy means vibrant, exuberant, zest for life - Amen!
