Hi Winter Marie,
Sorry to hear of your Mama's passing. You take care of yourself...
Hugs,
Lisa
I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you had the chance to hear your mother's voice and to know she hear yours. May your mother's memory be eternal and be with you always.

Well, we talked the other night about this and I was short of words as I always am with this subject.
I'm so very glad that you had love and encouragement and support from your mom - I think it makes a big difference in a child's life. It's what it's supposed to be about.
My condolences to you, Winter:)

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'll be back in a few days, have to go catch a ride on that airplane to attend the graveside memorial.
Thank you again.
Winter Marie
I hope God gives you all of the strength you need to make it through the rough times. I hope, like the Footprints poem says, that it's now that He's carrying you.
Hugs
Marianne
Footprints
One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Hi Winter Marie: I'm so sorry Winter Marie. I, too, lost my mom recently, just after Mother's Day. She was 94. Like you, I had at least been to visit her (she lived about 2000 miles from me) 1 week before she died. After I left, she stopped eating and drinking - she had seen me, spent time with me, and now it was time to go. She was in pain and really didn't want to go on. Just before she died, I talked to her on the telephone, told her I loved her so much, and miracle miracle miracle she told me she loved me. Those were the last words she spoke. I mourned her passing in her beloved forest with the birds and read a poem (do not grieve for me I am not gone...) for her. She, too, was my anchor for 67 years. I miss her so. My thoughts are with you.
