Who knew? MSKCC has a Thrift Shop
This spacious thrift shop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is known for being the beneficiary of the highest quality donations of designer and vintage clothing, home furnishings, accessories, children's clothing, books, and artwork. It holds three much anticipated "openings" each year - spring, fall, and year-end holiday season.
For more than 55 years, the Thrift Shop has been a vital part of The Society's fundraising program, and has been at it's current location for over 20 years. Through sales of new and gently used designer merchandise, the Thrift Shop provides support for The Society's patient care, research and education programs at the Center.
Our Location:
The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Thrift Shop
1440 Third Avenue
(between 81st & 82nd Streets)
New York, NY 10028
I'm going back tomorrow for my last injection. I hope I have a chance to check it out. I love thrift stores!

You are needed in Topeka, Carlene
I do not live in New York but after a year of reading your posts, I have to say you are such a font of knowledge and help to others. I have yet to find many survivors here in Topeka let alone anyone with the knowledge you have.
Even the small things like a thrift store or the library is a help to all. The fact that you keep up with everyone is also a wonderful loving gesture.
Since they have not found a cure for us yet but can clone, can they clone you for me too have here in Kansas.

Lori....
I live in Texas - always have, always will. But if they had a clinical trial in Topeka that I qualified for, I would be there in a flash.
I have to say, NYC isn't my cup of tea. The traffic is frightening (and I've driven in downtown Dallas and Houston - they don't begin to come close ot NYC), everything is way over-priced, it's crowded, and the weather sucks. I have been there 5 times now and it was either freezing cold or raining. Or both.
Plus, I have to ask everyone to repeat everything, several times. It's like visiting a foreign country. Bless his heart, Dr Sabbatini is from Mississippi, and I can understand him. Everyone else, not so much.
