Mom and Ovarian Cancer
What are some of the things I can do to help prevent another round of pnemonia and get her strong?
I do not think that the cancer has spread considering she just finished a round of chemo before she got sick and was getting ready for the 3rd round.
Thanks.

Thanks. I guess I am just worried about her health and well being. She was even in the ICU with the pnemonia because of the breathing problems and it took a big toll on her. If I am able to prevent seeing her like that again, I am up for that challenge. It would be fine with me if I never seen her in the condition she was in.0 -

There was a very smart man called Royal Lee who believed that no one gets pneumonia unless they have adrenal exhaustion first. I believe this to be true--infants can have their adrenal glands exhausted in utero when the pregnancy is particularly stressful.
There is an excellent book by James Wilson called Adrenal Fatigue. I've been using various therapies as recommended in the book to take care of my adrenal glands. I think one important therapy is to manage hypoglycemia by eating small frequent meals with protein, healthy oils, & complex carbs.
The adrenal glands produce natural steroids so it makes sense that Liz's mum improved after taking steroids (probably prednisone). So there you have more to think about.

LQ
I had fluid around the lungs for months after the debulking surgery (the doctor said that the ascites leaked out through the diaphragm)...yet I never got pneumonia.
I have been on adrenal tonic herbs throughout the whole ordeal since the end of last summer knowing that my adrenals were gonna be exhausted for sure if I didn't do something proactive. I am still under the care of a chiropractor who does muscle testing to determine which herbs are good for me.
I understand where LQ is coming from. However, no one knows if the adrenal tonic made a difference or not with me. I will admit that I only had to deal with the menopausal symptoms for a few months (the adrenal glands are supposed to take over for the ovaries when women go through menopause anyway).
Initially, I used Korean ginseng, Siberian ginseng and Ashwaganda in liquid form which tasted really nasty and now I am just taking the Siberian ginseng. The oncologist was fine with me taking the tonic. I think he and I have "an understanding" about such matters.
