Well Monday will be a month that my dad has been in the hospital. I really dont know what to do. Within the last couple days he hasnt ate or drank and has been sleeping all day and he is very depressed. I know there really isnt anything i can do for him but be there but he doesnt even know im there with him when i stay. He is confused all the time. He has lost weight and has lost a great deal of muscle mass. I feel like he is just giving up. I am sooo upset. I cant eat because i get sick and dont sleep well. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I'm so sorry about your dad. I lost my dad to esophagal cancer and I know its hard to see them so depressed. The only thing I could do for my dad is be there with him. I know that made him happy. There is always hope, we never know what can happen. You might want to go to the emotional support discussion board and copy your post for over there also. I have you and your family in my prayers. Lori0 -
I understand...
I understand the emotional stress is so overwelming. I have/am having a hard time myself. My father has always been my rock, and seeing him go through this has been devastating. Some days are better than others... but for a while I was having a hard time coping... then did a little better... now i'm back to anxiety ridden days. I guess it's just a roller coaster for all of us. Wish I could scream, stop this ride.. I want off! It has been so consuming it is even taking a toll on my marriage. But I try to remind myself.. this will get better... one way or another... and there is nothing we can do but be there for our fathers/families, take it day by day, and do the best we can. I'm sorry you are going through this too.. I hope you can find a little light in this day.
Take care,
