My daughter's best friend's mother passed away yesterday. She had been diagnosed less that 2 months ago with multiple myleoma that attacked her spinal cord and had moved into her brain. She had just started on chemo which made her so sick they took her off after the second treatment because her kidneys were in failure and told the family that there was nothing else they could do for her. she was a wonderful mother (she is actually the BFF's grandmother who took over after her daughter could not care for the granddaugher), was loved by all who knew her. Tears are falling for the family whose life has been turned upside down by the knowledge of cancer attacking this wonderful women's bodyand now to have to try and understand her death. I hate this disease and how it affects all of us, patients, caregivers, families and friends. I pray for those in treatment and those of us NED, that there will someday be a permanent cure so that no one else will have to experience this shock, pain and suffering.

    Cancer can hit fast and hit hard. It certainly can change one's world forever.
