Some Good news

in Ovarian Cancer #1
We saw the doctor with mom this afternoon and he said it looks as though she has had a delayed reaction to the chemo. The ascites was drained almost 4 weeks ago and has not come back!!! He was so pleased and I cannot even tell all of you the small seed of elation that started to form in my chest. I know this cancer is cruel and gives us hope only to take it all back, but for a moment I feel good and that is worth everything. He will continue with treatment next Thursday and a CT scan three weeks after that. He said there is hope that time may be something we can more of.

Thank all of you for your thoughts and well wishes. We are fighting and we are going to keep pushing!!!! Today was a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy past three months. I am grateful.

    That is good news.
    It's true that cancer is cruel but don't let it stop the joy you feel at this good news. We have to take whatever happiness comes our way and hold it for dear life.

    Celebrate every small sign of hope & joy!
    Heartache comes to all of us, but there is NO advantage in trying to prepare and steel yourself for the next wave of it, absolutely NONE. Allow yourself to relish each tiny joy and any renewed hope. The secret to getting through this journey is to live in the NOW. If NOW is good, don't be afraid to be happy! Maybe it'll last; maybe it won't, but the joy is here now and you would be a fool not to soak up as much peace and joy, even if temporary, as it affords you. Please try to remember that. Trying to peek around the next corner coming up and waiting for the other shoe to drop robs you of any beauty that may be there for you TODAY. ((((hugs))))
