Necrosis is a fancy word for
Necrosis is a fancy word for saying dead tissue. Radiation can damage blood vessels which supply your tissue with oxygen. If the tissue doesn't get oxygen, it dies. If the area involved is small, collateral circulation should take over and you should heal without a problem. Hopefully, this is a small thing?? Sending you positive thoughts and prayers.0 -
Necrosis
I actually had some necrosis on my breast after my mastectomy and reconstruction. The best thing that I can say is to be diligent about caring for it. Mine looked pretty bad, like big, black, hard scabs. My PS actually ended up cutting it away so that we could get to good tissue and because the tissue had died, it began to have some infection (it stunk). I am alright now, but the site needed some extra TLC.0
