Update on Nancy591
One of her doctors offered to refer her to the palliative care team. He said she is not well enough for chemo, nor does he believe she will be well enough in the foreseeable future. She wants to talk with Dr Sabbantini before she makes a decision.
Nancy told me to paraphrase our conversation and post the gist of it for everyone. She appreciates all your prayers and good wishes. She asked me how everyone was, what was going on with Linda and Leesa and several others. She's just so weak and under the influence, as they say, because of the heavy drugs they were giving her. It takes forever for her to type a cohesive text/post.
She has wonderful support from her family. Her mom and sisters are looking after her, her house, and her children. So there's that, at least.
I'm sorry I don't have more cheerful news. Believe me, if I haear any, I will pass it on ASAP.

I have read her posts since I joined and although I have not spoken to her, have always been impressed by her thoughtfulness and courage. I am sad tonight knowing that another wonderful wife, mother and daughter is going through such a tough time.
I know she is an inspiration to many who have met and talked with her, but also to those of us that only get on occasionally and are "Lurkers" most of the time.
Carlene: Please let her know she is in my prayers and thoughts.

thanks for the update. I have seen women bounce back even from this weak state, and have not lost hope for her, although my heart is breaking for her. I am glad to hear she has plenty if support.

Please tell Nancy that we love her and that she is being held up in prayer for things to turn around and that she will be home with her family soon.

If anyone can....she can
Carlene, thank you for the update. Everyday when I log on, I have been looking for a post saying that she is doing better. Please tell her, I believe in her. I am asking all of my friends to pray for her.
I have started crying now and I can't stop. I hate this disease.
Lord, I pray for Nancy and your healing power. Please be with her and her family. Help her through this.

Nancy needs to get better. Nothing else is acceptable; anything less is too horrible.
Thank you so much, Carlene, for getting us the updates. I can only imagine how hard it must be to see a friend suffer and her family worrying. Take care of yourself through this, Carlene; I know this must be hard for you, too. We all identify so personally. I know how gut-punched I feel and I didn't even see her. (((Carlene))).
I send to Nancy all my strength and hopes and determination across the miles. Nancy is very special to me; to so many of us. I can't even pray for myself when there are young mothers like Nancy who need to live and feel healthy. I save my prayers for you, dear one.
Nancy, I know you're exhausted and in pain, sweetie, but hang in there. The battle can wait. Rest and get some nutrition in you and regain your strength. You're going to make it through this. Believe that, Nancy. You just need a break for awhile. ((((Nancy))))0 -

idk what floor Mom is going to be on, but when we get in I will go visit Nancy and keep you updated as well....this is a dreadful disease...,how ironic if my mother and Nancy ended up being roomates
Lisa, I think it would be GREAT if your mom and Nancy were roomies. Nancy, however, is in a private room.

so NOT the news i expected :-(
Thank you Carlene for keeping us up on Nancy's status. This is such a shock. We started on Doxil for first recurrence at the same time last year and I am so saddened to know she is having such a difficult time. This must be so hard on her family, my heart goes out to them all.
Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you (((Nancy)))

Hey Lisa, since you're there can you please post mailing address for cards of encouragement to Nancy? Hope today goes better than yesterday.0 -
Thanks Carlene
Thank you Carlene for keeping us posted and conveying our well wishes to Nancy. She does seem like such a sweet lady and everyone here is rooting for her. Cancer sucks and nobody should have to deal with it, but to see a young mother, with two little kids really wrenches my heart into pieces. There is always hope and she is one tough lady and yes maybe Dr. S. can pull a miracle out of his bag, but the realist in me knows that this doesn't sound very good.
Hoping and praying for the best...

I'm so sorry to hear about Nancy
Dear Carlene, thanks for the update. Although I haven't been on this discussion group long, I always appreciated anything Nancy told me. She is a wonderful person and I am so sorry that she is not doing well. I hope and pray that she will have enough to fight this horrible disease. Please, if you speak to her, extend to her my wishes for her recovery.0 -
Carlene- you are a wonderful
Carlene- you are a wonderful communicator angel for Nancy and so many of us appreciate you! I was up this morning at 2 with post chemo knee pain and stupid hand neuropathy. Reading this update made me realize that what I'm feeling right now is nothing compared to the emotional pain and love of a teal sister for whom we all wish no physical pain and rested reassurance of a better day ahead. Please tell Nancy when possible that we will carry her with us today and the tomorrows in thought and prayer and hope that she and her family find comfort with each other 24/7! Nancy, Bunches of gentle Hugs- Ellen.
....Carlene- take care of you 2!!
Lord, help me to be a person of faith and trust in Your strength when my own gives out.

Carlene,
Carlene,
I am so sad to hear this. I will continue to pray for Nancy, and for everyone else on the boards. I'm torn between wanting to curse cancer and wanting to thank it for bringing us all together.
LOL..Isn't there an easier way for us to get together?
God give us strength,.....
