What are the chances of this?
One lady lost her beloved in January 2000. She finally remarried and her second husband just passed away with EC in March. This poor woman has gone thru this twice.
The reason I am writing is that WE HAVE to get the word out what a deadly disease this is. We must start catching this in the early stages not at stage 4 like we seem to be seeing more of.
It is so sad to see the suffering this beast is causing so many people. So I guess it is up to each and everyone of us to really spread the word about it.
I may seem like an alarmist to my friends and others but after losing Vince I have realized it is my responsibility to make people aware of this cancer. So many people are so blase about it. It won't happen to me.
Well if it can happen to Sherri's Jim and My Vince, both non -smokers , non-drinkers, and exercise nuts BELIVE ME it can happen to anyone.
This hit me so hard reading about this poor woman losing not one but 2 spouses this way.She even said not much has changed in 10 years. The surgury is the same(in most cases), chemo the same, losing weight and all the rest of the horrible side effects. Thats because the general public and MOST drs don't know that much about it.
I love all of you
Barb

Thank you Sherry
I will call you during the week.
Yes I am disheartened. I also go on the Inspire website and let me tell you the people with Lung cancer stage 4 is awful too. If these cancers are not caught early enough its such bad news.
I know when Vince was so sick everyone tried to keep my spirits up and I kept hoping that he would get better. I wanted so much for him to live that I did not want to hear anything negative. I UNDERSTAND how we all want our loved ones to survive but Sherri I gotta tell you you did the best thing possible by Jim going off the chemo when he did. He lived a much better stronger life than Vince did with all the BIG GUNS. I am so sorry now that he did that and I know he was too.

Hello Barb
Thanks for your post. Sounds like a great group of ladies! Wonder if there is such a group for my mom here in Virginia? I just wanted to let you and all victims of EC know of the group ECAN.org. Go to their website. It is very imformative, you can get an info kit with posters, brochures, and wristbands. It is all free. Then you can spread the word of EC in your area. I did this, and was very pleased. I wear my periwinkle blue bracelet daily. Thanks again, and I hope this info is helpful to you and all who have had to experience this type of cancer. In loving memory of my dad, Ray. 2/26/39-3/09/10.

Hi Barb
You have made me laugh...thank you! My mom put the old in "Old School". She has no idea about computers, let alone an email address. You can send it to me and I will gladly pass it on to her.
lbsmom23958@gmail.com Thanks Barb once again!
