We were supposed to go to a car cruise in cocoa beach, fl. But, it is going to rain & we try not to drive the vette in the rain. (2004 modified). So we are taking the civic (yuk) & going to meet my former neighbors from PA. She just got done radiation for breast cancer. Then I get ready for a visit from my daughter and grandson from the 19th-23rd. Can't wait to see them.
    Have a wonderful weekend everyone,

    Hi pepe
I always think this is about you guys making plan going out in US. This is the first time I read this post and notice it's really interesting.
I usually don't like weekend that much because I have to take care of my mum and my husband at the same time... making them different types of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
    Have a great weekend!

We used to go to a lot of show and shine car shows back before we had the kids...sheesh makes me realize it's like 23 years ago!!! Now I feel old. At one time we had a street rod.

But not a pleasant sensation on a semirigid boat! .
25 knots is what I call "comfortable speed".Anyway it's quite useful for skiing or tug the donut or other toys!.

We have speed boats, the boys love it the faster you go the better for them. Me, I like to cruise along slowly and look at the scenery. My oldest son and my husband actually took a boat race course last summer, they had to learn how to get out of a boat when it overturns upside down in the water!!! It was very scarey to watch, as with raceboat they are strapped in with a harness, and wearing a racing helmet, turned upside down in the water, and they had to get out and swim to the surface. They loved the experience, and got to drive raceboats out on a race course at very very high speeds with tight turns. Our "family" boat has two 300 horse power Mercury motors...so you can just imagine the speed!!

We have a driver, which is my car. 99coupe, white with the roof that come off.
It is an automatic, just for my convenience. His is tweaked and faster than the average vette. It has billy boat mufflers. OMG. she is like a tiger coming out of the garage.!! Needless to say I love that car. Mine too, it is my happy place. Can't drive a vette and feel miserable ; ) I'm gonna post a picture of her.
His big project now is turning our golf cart into a camaro. I can't wait. We don't play golf, but where we live you can go just about anywhere in them Lots of fun. but so slow!!!!
(my grandchildren think i am the coolest nanny ever!!! )

My husband is a "nut" too. The past few years he's taken up an interest in restoring old race boats of all things. So, last summer we actually took his restoration project to a boat show. He really wanted it finished for the show, but of course the mechanic didn't have the motors ready.....but he took her to the show anyway. It was a blast, fun little place called Alexandria Bay, 1000 Islands, N.Y. Very touristy, in the 1000 Islands area, very beautiful. Funny when we were there it had such a resourt feeling to it, we were a couple of hours drive away from home but it felt like we were in a touristy area of Florida.

But only just the seas were very rough and all of my bits that don't work so good any more made me realise that I am wise not to go to sea on my own anymore. We caught a beautiful haul of prime reef fish. One of our younger members of the party was seasick the whole day and the rest of us got shaken and stirred beating the 25 miles home into the teeth of a 20 knot souwester. We got in safely thru the bar and even the sick guy agreed it was a top day. Ron.

WOW RON!!! 50 miles in a boat in one day out on the seas, anyone would be exhaused after that. Sounds like you had fun and a good haul...did you have a fish fry afterwards??

    weekend memories
    My Goodness,
after reading all the posts. I had boats, and a 1995 Indy pace car corvette. All are memories now, but happy memories.
Still recouperating from big operation 3 weeks ago. Feeling better everyday.
One day at a time will do it, although I have learned patience now... never to old to learn.
    Hugs to all,
