SCLC remissions?

Just curious-

My mom has small cell lung cancer, limited. She had chemo and radiation but another spot came up right beside the one she had about 7 months after she finished everything. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and is remission possible after having it come back so soon? She has taken another 4 rounds of chemo this time, and I do not think she is going to be able to do another round of radiation. The spot has disappeared, but we are both afraid that it will spread again soon after she stops treatment. Just wondered if anyone else has gotten a lasting remission after something like this?
