Another gem from Hester's blog
If you are a regular reader, you know that I am a big fan of Living Beyond Breast Cancer (www.lbbc.org). For a number of years, they have partnered in a variety of ways with the Young Survivors Coalition (www.youngsurvival.org), the most significant perhaps being the annual winter conference.
LBBC has now added a special section for young women to their already excellent website. Here is the link, and I encourage you, whatever your age, to have a look, http://www.lbbc.org/Audiences/Young-Women :
Young Women
Welcome to lbbc.org's website community for young women affected by breast cancer. We know that your psychosocial and medical concerns are different than those of women over age 50, and we are dedicated to providing you with age-appropriate information and resources specific to your needs.
Read about the latest breast cancer news, updates on clinical trials and more. Use the navigation bar on the left to quickly and easily access topics of interest to you.
We hope the information and support offered in this section brings you comfort and empowers you to make informed choices about your treatment and well-being.
Learn About Breast Cancer and Young Women
"You have breast cancer."
These four words can change your life forever, forcing you to face many complex medical, psychosocial, emotional, legal and financial challenges.
LBBC wants you to understand your diagnosis and the choices you need to make as a young woman affected by breast cancer. Getting the medical and quality-of-life information you need can bring you comfort, empower you to ask questions and enable you to make sound choices about health care that will help you live well after diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
