Not at all petty
You're right. I've always said I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but for him, I would have made an exception.

But he DID die of cancer,
But he DID die of cancer, Penny~ he himself was the Cancer...he destroyed all he touched and had no humanity or decency. And that was his demise. Though we do battle with the Beast and can come out victorious, he epitomized the Beast~ and was defeated!!!0 -

Thankfully! I am thrilled for all of those who lost loved ones on 9/11, that finally they have justice! I am bothered, though, by the fact that he received such "proper burial.". Many of his victims were denied this.....but I guess it doesn't matter..as Chen said, a cancer has eliminated!0 -

Perceptions are indeed fascinating, aren't they? I understand the reasons he was not buried in the ground ( there would always be some who revere the man and would have made pilrimages to his burial site etc) and yet, even though his body was indeed prepared according to custom, Muslims do not, as a rule ( as I understand it) bury at sea. So, to them, it was not a "proper burial."
My first thought was though the DNA evidence exists, not having a body to see will be fodder for conspiracy theorists...just what we so don't need any more of!

I was somewhat surprised at burial at sea because I too thought that it was not an acceptable form of burial for Muslims. The Chucky V (CVN70 - Carl Vinson - Hubby is a 'plank owner' on it) has all the medical facilities needed to be sure that a thorough autopsy was done and all tissue needed for testing was collected. Military Chaplian have the ability to act for religions other than their own when needed for ceremonies - so yes he could have been given a proper Muslim ceremony - not that I think he deserved it. Disposing of the body will open a lot of questions from some but it does put an end to his physical being. Lots of potential problems of what to do with it (the body) no longer exists - it's "fish food"/"crab food".0 -

Ocean Burial, actual physical burial site....a choice making it the lesser of Two Evils as far as Muslim burials is concerned.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Make a possible site for a shrine, or completely dispose of the body? Open the floodgates of conspiracies, or put a period at the end of a sentence? Good riddance to bad rubbish, or much ado about nothing? If it isn't one thing, it's another. And so on and so forth! But wow~ can you even imagine the discussions which both preceeded and followed the decision to have him swim with the fishes???0 -
I read an article this morning that said the government figured they'd have trouble finding a country that would take his body for burial -- Saudi Arabia apparently refused. So between that and not wanting a place for crazy admirers to go to to worship him after death, I guess the burial at sea was the only option. I'm sure they've kept enough DNA for whatever tests are done now and in the future to keep doubters quiet.chenheart said:So many Proverbial Sayings!!!!! Ding Dong The Witch is Dead!!!!!
