Has anyone been on Arimidex while getting rads?

I was just wondering if anyone was doing both at the same time? For some reason, my MO wanted me to start taking Arimidex just as I was begining rads and I want to know if anyone has ever done both?

YES
my Onc started me on Armidex just as I started rads also....no problem. The radiologist onc made some comment about usually not starting the meds til after the rads....but I just went along with what my Onc wanted...he was aggressive with all my treatments and I trusted him....and I am clean now, so I am glad. But I did not have any issues taking the drug while doing rads. Good luck with your treatments!0 -
My onc started me on Femara
My onc started me on Femara right after I finished chemo in March of 10. I didn't start rads until May and finished in July 10. By the way I had no problems with rads. No burns or anything. All I ever had to use was the aloe gel.

Yes, I started arimidex
Yes, I started arimidex before rads. I don't see a contraindication there? Anything to fight the beast!0 -
Here's what I was toldRague said:I started Femara a week
I started Femara a week after I started Rads, which started a week after last Taxol. No problems from taking it.
The medical onc said start Arimidex now, and the rads onc said wait. Of course, I asked why, and she
said because she didn't want me hot flashing during rads -- really a comfort issue. I waited since I was looking for any excuse not to start Arimidex, and the irony is hot flashes is not one of my side effects.
Good luck to you.
