Does anyone get scared having a pet scan??

in Ovarian Cancer #1
had a pet scan this week and dreaded going under the machine as it almost touches your face. The tech told me some people put a towel over their eyes so they don't see at all. I had one of my little chemo caps on so I pulled it down over my eyes and it really worked wonders I wasn't as scared this time. Some people get medicated by the dr. if needed. Just thought I'd share with you. val

    Glad you got thru it
    It is weird just lying there with this big machine going over you but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I hope you get great results. That is the part I hate waiting for the results !I will be thinking good thoughts for you !

    I went to Windsong and they are so nice. I am sure I will have good results and be ned. I see Dr. Baker next week. Hope you are doing well. Looks like spring is finally here...val

    Val: how long will it take for you to get your results? Glad you didn't totally freak out--you always have such a great attitude that I hate the thought of you being intimidated by technology.

    You are a triple survivor: cancer, chemo & PET scan, oh my!

    Expecting good news. I will find out thursday when I see my wonderful Dr. Thank you for all of your posts. You are very smart. Are you a medical professional? The machine freaked me out last year and this time I was prepared. Also after the test they give us candy,, hersheys kisses..yum....val

    I have never had a pet scan
    how are they different than ct scans and why are they used?
