99 Year Old Woman Still Gets Yearly Mammogram and I had the honor of escorting her to the dressing r

A few months ago I escorted a spry 92 year old woman and I was impressed. Today's 99 year old woman knocked the socks off my feet. She told me that she water exercises 3 times a week and believes that is what is keeping her body limber.
Her final comment was that she felt this is will be her last year for the mammogram screening. She said that if she gets breast cancer now, she is not going to do anything about it. She will be 100 years old this year! Her body, mind, and sense of humor...sharp as a tack. All I saw was a hearing aid that she wore. Hope she inspires you, liked she inspired me. What a role model!
Lots of Hugs,
Janelle

Inspiration indeed.I would love to gain some of her wisdom that she has accumulated through the years.
What a honor you had to escort her and meet her.She is a inspiration for all of us.So glad she does take the time for a mammo. No matter what your age people need them.I think the younger generation in their teens should start. At least 18 years of age.
I was dx at 62.My goal is to live 30 years or more with this bc.I have 2 aunts who will be 93 and 95 in just a few months.Just a couple months ago the 93 year old went into extended care. Her 95 year old sister walks over a mile a day to visit her and their younger brother who is 81.My aunts look to be in their early 70's.
