Amazing, but with all we deal with I feel grateful to have a bacterial infection in my throat and a urinary tract infection going into kidneys --both at the same time.

It really is one's perspective, because I thank God they are not talking about a cancer.

Yes, it gives us a very different perspective.

About UTI's, I had problems at menopause with them. I hate cranberry juice, so I began taking a cranberry capsule (available at any drugstore in vitmin section). End of UTI's. Cranberry has a chemical that coats the bladder lining (like teflon) so bacteria can't adhere and grow.

In the study below, participants took one cranberry pill 2 X day. I just take one a day and it has worked for me for >8years.

My mother-in-law was plagued with UTI's (which presented as confusion--common in elderly). We added the twice a day regimen for her and no more UTI's. An ounce of prevention....

    thanks
I should be drinking cranberry juice or having a pill. The weird part is that the doctor thinks it is the same bacteria in both places, at the same time. Still have a fever...

but, i agree, an ounce of prevention :)

Lizzie .. I tolerate drinking cranberry juice .. when I mix
it with water .. Having dealt with kidney stones recently, cranberry juice is something I drink everyday -- for preventative measures. Our bodies are tired, fatigued after our chemo, RAD's and surgeries - so anything we can do to help with the healing and prevention - I am for it!

3/4 water to 1/4 cranberry juice .. Helps .. otherwise, the pills work as well.

Best of Luck .. I too, am fighting fever, and cold after spending the last week -- at church observing, Passover .. Ugh, go figure!

    more bloodwork and urine today!!
My fever doesn't seem to go away, but my throat feels fine. Its my back and sides that are so tender indicating it is in my kidneys now, and with the fever. And my swollen glands.

Right now just drinking lots and lots of water and wishing my overall "yukkiness" would just go away.

    Hope you feel better soon!
