Sarah has made the decision to discontinue treatment. The current drug is not working, and Taxol or Topotecan, according to her doctor, might give her an additional week or two, but no more.

I’m TIRED. Tired of feeling rotten, of being stuck in the house, of not being able to do anything for anyone but myself (and even then just barely). I’m tired of switching horses mid-stream every six weeks. If there had been ANY response worth a damn from my lung mets since they showed up in 8/09, I might be more interested in fighting a longer battle. But there hasn’t been, not one......I want to go out in charge of my life, with a little dignity left.
Sarah started blogging in late 2009, almost the exact same time I began to shuffle down Cancer Lane. She was, at that time, already 3 1/2 years into a journey that I found terrifying, but Sarah made it sound like more of an adventure than a funeral dirge. My heart, once again, is heavy with sadness for a sister in spirit.
Please pray for Sarah.

What a talented writer to make this horrible journey sound like an adventure. She is so brave to share her continuing story with us. Her writings make me feel like I really know her. Hugs to her and her family thru this part of her journey !
