Nipples
I just had an appt. with my PS to discuss nipples and tattooing. I was given 3 options. I know everyone is different but I'd like your input.
Option 1
Just Tattooing (In Office)
Option 2
nipple recon from my my breast and then tattooing (in office I think)
Option 3
nipple recon with a graft from my tummy then tattooing. This is one that I have to go to the hospital and be knocked out for. PS said tummy would hurt more than boobs. I'd also have to wear a girdle. :-P
I'm pretty sure Option 3 is out. I've been knocked out too much. I'd appreciate your ideas. I know this has discussed before but chemo brain is still going on.

Hi Janie,
My plastic surgeon actually did my nipple from my breast the same time that I had my exchange surgery (tissue expander to implant). I've had to postpone my tatoo a few times due to schedule conflicts. Actually have an appointment to have it done in P.S. office in May.0 -

I had a lumpectomy Janie, but, wishing you good luck in whatever you choose.

Hi Janie
I had option #2 done. I had to be in the hospital for the nipple recon but only for a couple of hours and it was under local anestetic. I had that done in February and am pleased with the results. I will be getting the tattoos next month. I think when all is said and done, things will look quite convincing to a "casual viewer".
If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I will soon be wrestling with this option myself. I found this website that has "rub on nipple" 3D tatoos. Still being in the radiation portion of my treatment, I am about two months away from my implant exchange. So I purchased a set of these babies just to try them out. I am undecided with having the flap surgery, do I really want the erect nipples all the time? I'm going to try these tatoos and see if I'd be happy with that look. Here's the website link if you're interested.
Good luck,
Lorrie
