My Friend NED

After an excruciating wait of 7 whole days, my onc today told me that my recent MRI was NED. Yeehah! Please visualize me doing my 'happy dance'. It ain't pretty, but it is heartfelt. I had been having some severe cheek and ear pain the last couple of weeks and, of course, I was thinking the worst about 'the beast'. So, I was greatly relieved to hear that there was nothing nasty growing in my head/neck. My Docs think it is just infection/inflammation and possibly a jaw joint that no longer works just right because the last surgery took part of my jaw muscle. But, I can live with all of that after getting the all clear today. It seems like my life is now being granted to me in 6 month increments. It's like "Hello, Roger. This scan was clean. Here's your license to live another six months and come back for a renewal then". But, I will take that. Here's hoping that the rest of our extended family here also gets good results from their recent scans. Good luck and prayers to all.

    Great news, Roger. Even better, because I get to share - yep - my scans FINALLY came back clean. The doorman at Club NED finally let me in - maybe it's my new hair cut, but I don't think so. I, too, had a little "hmmm" there - my doc said "I can definately feel a lump, but I think it's just a lump - maybe inflammation" when scans came back, he said again "just a lump". Glad so many of us are lacing up dancing shoes. Keep it up, Roger.

    I've seen several postings from people who have finally met NED and I'm always excited for them.

Isn't it amazing how down we can feel and how dark things can be when our minds are going to the dark side? And then, when good news comes along, that just sort of evaporates and things seem much better. Let's congratulate each other on good scans for the next 100 scans or so. Hey, it never hurts to think positively.
