side pain after surgery

in Esophageal Cancer #1
My husband had an esophagogastrectomy four years ago. Since the surgery, he has pain in his left side in the evenings. Does anyone know of this or have any treatment that has worked?

    Hi Dorothy,
    I had the MIE EC surgery four and a half months ago and still have pain in my right ribs and back. The pain is especially noticeable if I yawn of sneeze. For the first couple of months after surgery the pain continued to improve but in the past couple of months is pretty much unchanged or only very slightly improved. I asked a friend that is 3.5 years out of the open surgery and he said he still has plenty of pain on his right side.
