First round of Chemo and Radiation today

My husband just finished his first round of Chemo and Radiation today. He is sleeping now. No nausea yet, just sleepy. Hope this goes smooth for my man.

    So he's sleepy? Guessing he got a generous dose of Benedryl with his chemo. I also hope things go well for him.

    yep, he said they gave him
    yep, he said they gave him benadryl. Several bags of liquids. It took like 5 hours today for chemo alone.

    Faster
    If he has the pump, more than likely the next treatments will go faster....

    Usually the first is slower because they want to look for any reactions. Once that's out of the way, they'll start pumping at a higher rate.

    My first was an all day thing...later only consisted of a few hours.

    If he takes EMEND, he probably won't have any nausea...

    Just keep him very well hydrated, that's the one thing that is easy to over look but can make him really sick.
