Hi,
What meds are you taking and what is the dose. Most thyroid meds take a few weeks to really work.
Thanks for the good thoughts on the transplant. It's still a couple months down the road since I have to do the RICE first. I go tomorrow at 9:00 am for the power port and begin chemo at 1:15.
I am getting nervous since I've never done RICE before. 3 days of treatment and day for neupogen sound daunting at this point. lol
At least I know there is a bus coming rounding the bend so I won't be hit off guard quite as much as last time.
Very good wishes to everyone, take care

I am not doing a donor allogenic, I am doing autologous so I am using my own stemcells. I am just praying they don't re-infuse any little cancer surviving cells it's always a possibility.
I'm getting nervous about tomorrow.0 -

Hi Denise,
I'm on thyroid meds and have been since I finished chemo for breast cancer in 1993. It took me about a month to start to really feel better. My dosage was upped every 2 weeks for a few months until I got to a normal range. I know it's hard but you will get there.

Hi Denise,
I am sorry you could not find a good match in your SCT seach. Have you thought about traveling to a major medical center like MDA or the HUTCH, as I believe they may have access to more donors. Also they are now doing cord blood transplants at some centers.
I don't remember what type of lymphoma you have. Can you refresh my chemo brain memory?
Sending blessings to you,

Hi Beth,
I am sending you tons of love and good wishes as you begin your journey tomorrow. You certainly have a full day, week planned. It always amazes me how many procedures doctors schedule in one day on us. Will you be getting the chemo in the out patient oncology unit at the hospital or do you have to travel from the port surgery to an infusion center?
Just remember that we are all here for you, every step of the way. We are routing you on to a successful transplant.
Sending prayers and love,
Leslie0 -

Hi Denise,
I agree with Leslie. There are many wonderful place you could look into. MDA in Texas or Moffitt in Florida. What part of the country are you in. we could help you locate places to try if we have an idea of where to look for you.
Also, didn't see a post about your thyroid meds. What are you taking and what is the dose. I know that many people have issues with their thyroid after receiving chemo and or rads. Good luck to you..0
