Kim, still waiting for proclamation
Hi Kim,
I am still waiting for the MD proclamation like I got last year after I asked and I am sure there are other people working on it too. What I don't understand is why don't the states that declare April Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month declare it automatically every April? I saw that Parkinsons' is also declaring Parkinson's Awareness for the month of April. It is still good and saw your Dad's post on Caring Bridge glad he is home and on the mend. take care,

Thanks To You
Hello Kim
Thank you so much for helping all of us to get our state to listen! I went on the EC Awareness site and asked them to send me a care kit so I can help to spread the word. Glad to hear that your dad is home and feeling better. Keep in touch!

MD is going to declare it Donna,
I don't know if they'll automatically send you copy---I think you need to call the governors office & request one.
So much work to do (family, job, EC etc!)

Hi Kim,
I already sent an email to the governor like I did last year. I posted on another post, I sent Gov. O'Malley an email, wrote to Dr. Oz and contacted a TV station here in Balto. Thanks for all your info about EC awareness. I think you told me there are other people working for it here in Maryland. take care, good luck!!

State of Kansas
I recieved a letter in the mail about the Proclamation for Kansas denying my request. They said in the state of Kansas, I need to have a non-profit organization request for the Proclamation. The gentleman who denied the request, also called me and said he send his deepest apologies but without a non-profit organization behind the proclamation, they can not approve.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the state of Missouri.....the gal issuing proclamations did email me and said she would work on it right away and thanked me for all the information I sent to her....so fingers crossed, it's approved in MO.
I recieved my EC kit in the mail yesterday. Already have places in mind to distribute them. Anyone know if I can get another kit since I'm covering two states????
Thanks,

Susie -- ECAN is a non-profit organization and you are a volunteer working to get the word out ---- would directing him to the website solve this seemingly "Bureaucratic Response"? I am sure Kim could get Mindy to do something about this --- I will forward to them.
Thanks for the effort - back from Pittsburgh and trying to catch up

Susie- Ecan.org is supporting this effort-- they are nonprofit. Would an email from Mindy (executive director) be what they need? I also can email them from the ECAN email I use to help with the EC Month push. Let me know- email me - Kim@ECAN.org
I think it's just a little hurdle. Where there's a will - there's a way!0
