Today is my Cancerversary

It was one year ago today that I got the call from the dr. that did my biopsy telling me that I had breast cancer. I was at work at the time and just sat in my office and cried. It has been a year that I won't soon forget. Sometimes I almost feel like it all happened to someone else. I know that I would not have gotten through it as well as I did if it weren't for my husband being at my side the whole time.
I did learn something from all of this. That I am important and need to put myself first which is something I never did before.
We are leaving on Sunday for a few days in Vegas just to get away from it all.

Hugs and Thank You to everyone here for all of your support

I don't want to say Happy Anniversary. I do want to say it is great knowing you. I am glad to hear that you learned to put yourself first and how lucky you are to have a supportive and caring husband during this past year.

Have fun in Las Vegas and let's hope you come back with lots of Las Vegas money!!

    Good for you!
My life also changed forever with a phone call. It was 2 years ago on March 31st that I had my partial mastectomy. I am grateful for my life every day as there were several weeks before it was staged and surgery was scheduled. It still brings tears to my eyes. May God continue to bless you with good health.

    Viva Las Vegas!
Doggone it, Lady G, I'm going to LV NEXT week. Would have been great to connect. Two of our "children" live there, but we're really going for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. Can't change that date and besides, I don't have her gift done yet.

In hindsight, didn't this year go by quickly? I don't know what day to call my cancerversary since I'll have 2 of them to "celebrate", but I'm right behind you with April 22 (endo cancer) and 26 (breast cancer) diagnoses. Aren't you just glad it's behind you?

    Happy 2011 - here's to a cancer free future.

    Lady G ... I remember you
Lady G ... I remember you well because we got our diagnosis on the same day last year. The postings were much more frequent because we were trying to making some sense through the unknown and the fear we were feeling. Sometimes it just seems like a year ... and sometimes it feels like it was 100 years ago that the diagnosis was delivered. Well...here we are ... you in Vegas and enjoying your life and here I am reading the posts of newly diagnosed and trying to figure out a way to help them all. There is a light at the end of the tunnel ... you and I both know it ... and others will find out. Life is precious ... get priorities in order and live life to the fullest ... don't sweat the small stuff!

You made it through a tough chapter of your life. You made it although I am sure there were days when you didn't think that you would. That is fantastic. Reading your posting caused me to remember when I was told that I had breast cancer. It was about 9:00 AM and I was sitting at my desk. I didn't cry. I think that I went into shock because I could not believe what I was being told. Oh, well...that was then and a lot of doctor's appointments later.

Have a great time in Vegas.
