This link is to information about lung cancer and treatment there is a list of chemotherapy medications and common use I believe it is on page 7. Believe it or not my father is in you same position. He is a 23yr cancer survivor of another type of cancer and he was recently diagnosed with sclc. He began chemotherapy which will consist of a 3day regiment every 21days. He is taking the chemo meds Cisplatin and etopisode. He will also begin radiation therapy. Wish you the best. Keep faith.0 -

Not sure if that link is working however if you go to google and type in "Chapter 6 Treatment for small cell lung cancer" it should show up as the 1st link. Good luck again0 -

Off to see the onco today.karenbeth said:chemo
Usually Cisplatin/Etopocide or Carboplatin/Etopocide. Carbo is less toxic than Cisplatin (less side effects) A lot of docs recommend Cisplatin because they believe it might be the more aggressive approach. Our oncologist felt they were interchangeble.
Off to see the onco today. Will learn the tx plan I hope. Please send prayers my way, thanks to all

Diagnosis
Hi there,
Just wanted to encourage you to keep your chin up. My brother was diagnosed Feb 1st with sclc limited. It was devastating news but here we are 7 weeks after diagnosis and he's done well with the treatments. He had 7 weeks of radiation therapy and 3 rounds of chemo. They haven't mentioned the prophylactic brain radiation yet but we know that's coming. Many years ago, lung cancer was a death sentence. It doesn't have to be anymore. Don't read the statistics. Just listen to your doctors and Pray for guidance from God. Take care. God Bless0 -

Yes I am waiting with caution. I had my 2nd chemo today. After the 1st I saw a significant difference in the distended jugular vien and the mass of lymph nodes just above the clavicle. I pray the chemo will continue to work and kill these cells.
God Bless you all. Big Hugs to all0 -
