Prayers requested

Basketcase checking in here! Would like to request your prayers for a lady in my church. She sat next to me in the early service yesterday and requested our prayers as when she went for her "welcome to medicare" physical as she called it and they did a chest x-ray; they found a mass in her one of her lungs the size of a tennis ball and it had spread to her liver. Apparently she has had cancer before as she said she had half of her tongue cut out in 1980 or 88 one. She has a strong faith, but her husband and daughter are just devastated as you can well imagine. She also has a 7 year old grandson and is the only one that brings him to church. I told her after the service that I so know how her husband is feeling right now and to please let me know if there's anything I can do. She's in my Sunday School class and did ask me what it was that Charlie passed away from, and I thought, "Do you really want to know that right now?" But since she asked I figured she did; so I told her. She knew he had cancer I think she just didn't know where it was and what happened. Anyway she's goes for a liver biopsy today to see if that is treatable. Please keep her in your prayers. Her name is Donna. I told her about this website and I hope and pray she joins as I also told her what a blessing and comfort y'all had been and still are and always will be to me. Thanks and God Bless!

Donna is new on my prayer list. I usually say "all of us on the HNC site" so I can catch us all, but I'll add the name Donna to the list. Prayer can be powerful as you know. Good thoughts coming your way.......
all the best

Prayers for Donna and I hope she checks out the website. I don't know what I'd do without the board as I have family and friends that really don't understand what getting diagnosed with cancer, going through treatment and recovery does to you physically and mentally. In fact one of my stupid friends even commented that she wondered why I was not back to eating normal food, still complaining my throat hurt. And told me to relax and get over it....How stupid is that. -

Thanks for your prayers and I'll be saying a prayer for your friend that doesn't seem to understand why you're not eating normally, yet and your throat hurts and relax and get over it. But, maybe that's his/her way of dealing with it - just needs to keep that to themselves. I know I was anxious for Charlie to eat normally again, too but I understood why he couldn't. Best of luck to you and thanks again.
