I met Nancy 591!!!!!!!
I am delighted that I have had the chance to meet 3 of my wonderful teal sisters in the flesh: Joanie (JLo), Annie, and Nancy. It is so nice to put a face and a real voice to the words I have been reading for the last year and a half. It has been the best part about the clinical trial experience, thus far. It would be a real plus if the vaccine turned out to be a winner, but if not, at least I can say that I had the chance to hang out with these amazing ladies for a little while.
I go back to NYC in mid-April. No injection this time, just blood work, a CT scan, and a check over by Dr S (and perhaps one or more members of his posse).
It was rainy and cold. Maybe by my next trip, Spring will have found its way to the Big Apple.

So jealous!
And so happy for all of you! I also found out that I will qualify for what I think is the same trial in 6 months at Swedish hospital in Seattle. Details forthcomoing. I am going to have to read up on the details.
k
PS Hawaii in June anyone? I'm thinking Honolulu, get our own rooms and hang out for a few days on the beach. I need to stop over then on my way to the States. If there is another central location in the States that a lot of us could go to, it would even be better. I'm open for ideas. I feel stuck over here in japan and want to put faces to all your words and thoughts. YOu have become my virtual famly and i know we have a lot to share and would have so muc fun.0 -

I looked at the exclusion criteria for those studies and all I can say is that it's a miracle if you qualified for one of them. There are so many variables that I can understand why the clinical trials are so restrictive. I am hoping for the best outcome for you. May your trip to Hawaii be a healing one...maybe you can find a traditional kahuna healer there.0 -
Sorry I missed you and Bob
I am in my own wild world of work and nonsense. I hope to see you in mid-April and the weather WILL be better. Thank you for doing this for all of us and for the prevention for others in the future. I feel and I know all of the others do too that no one should have to discover this like we do.
Thanks for being you!!!!!!0 -

The closest one to the vaccine trial at MSKK is GOG212. Both are limited to women in their first remission. The GOG212 trials are being done all over the country. It is virtually identical to the trial I am doing, but you must have completed your first line chemo within the last 12 weeks.
What's the number for your trial, Kathleen?
PS....the official identifier for my trial is GLOBO-H-GM2-STN-TF-TN0 -

Carlene. There is no way that it is the same one you are on, what was I thinking? It must have been very late when I wrote that. Will post when I get the detailed info. I don't see anything on the Swedish site either.
