Feeling Very Lucky Today :)

My doctor is such a gem! I had my list of questions, and after the first one, he just kind of segued on to the next, so I really only asked 2 as he anticipated me. He prescribed gabapantin (Neurontin) for my neuropathy, which is exactly what I wanted, as I think it will also help me sleep. I will be away for 3 weeks, including the week when I should have my next check-up (he said no problem,) and he asked where I'm going. It's Dallas and CA, and I said that I don't eat much meat, but I plan to have a good steak in Dallas. He then told me he had just been to Dallas, and recommended a few restaurants. A surgeon who can, and wants, to converse!!! It was just a few minutes, which was perfect (I know he's ferociously busy.) I feel incredibly lucky to have found this doctor and to be healthy and still NED.
Now I can stop eating those Hershey bars and maybe take off the 3 pounds I put on last week!

Have a lovely time on your trip. Whenever I get away I'm best able to forget the dark cloud of cancer and just be me! Have fun.
Thank you. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be in Dallas for 4 days for a conference, and figured since I was already halfway to CA, I should take more time (something I wouldn't have done pre cancer) and see my daughter and best friend. I didn't commit to the conference till after my 3 month follow up, but had to buy those tix before today's visit. I did spend an extra $40 for cancellation insurance, just in case. -
