Has Anyone Done Well with just Chemo and Brachytherapy?
But must now decide how MUCH radiation to have before my final three rounds of chemo.
Second opinions in Philadelphia clash: some advocate full pelvic radiation followed by brachytherapy; two others say just brachytherapy; and even the research shows no consensus on how much radiation is optimal for my tumor (MMMT, stage 1B, 18 sampled pelvic lymph nodes clear, but 60% myometrial invasion).
Am in very good health other than this diagnosis.
Have any of you with stage 1B (but grade 3 or MMMT) done well with just chemo and bracyhtherapy?
So appreciatively,
Rosey R

Yes, I have
Was dx with serous carcinoma 1c, grade 3 in 2008. Had 6 rounds of chemo and just brachytherapy. All nodes clear, washings clear, omentum clear. Was told that I didn't need pelvic rad because of clear nodes (over 20, were removed, I think.)I am doing well, and am a 3 year survivor.Hope this helps.
