Dear Nancy591 How are you doing on Fragmin
If I can share any questions you may have on the Fragmin blood thinner, I'd be glad to answer your postings. I think you are a very strong person and I wish you nothing but the best.
P.S. In one of your postings you said you may be going to Disney World later this year. I also love Disney World and would like to take my nephew there this year. We were planning to go last year, but when I got operated on, and started chemo again, I didn't go through with the trip and boy was I sorry I did. He really wants to go and I think at this point, it's just what I need. Where do you stay in Disney World.

hives
I developed hives. Not sure if it was from the Fragmin but I switched to a different anticoagulant. This one is also a sub-cutaneous injection. It is call Arixtra. I have no problems giving myself injections. No pain either. Are you giving your injection in the abdomen? Unfortunately my liver enzymes are through the ROOF. I am supposed to have chemo on Friday but worried I won't be able to get it. I put a call in to my doctor in NYC today to make sure. The anticoagulants can raise your liver tests. I also have not checked my ca125 since starting back on Taxol. I am so afraid to look at it.
I stayed at different places in Disney, regular hotel, rental house and on Disney property. The last time we went we stayed at Disney's Caribbean beach resort. It was too spread out and had an internal busing system to get from one building to the next. I don't think I'd stay there again. I think I'd try one of the other moderate resorts on Disney property. Hope you go and have fun!!!0 -

I haven't been able to give myself the injection, I'm just really a chicken, so a member of my family gives it to me. We give it in the abdomen, but I do black and blue. I keep getting told to do it different ways and I'm really confused as to what's the right way. Right now, we pinch the skin, put the needle in and release the skin while the stuff is going in. How do you do yours? Also, I didn't know that the liver enzymes go up with the anticoagulants. I hope you can get your chemo because I know it's important to keep on schedule but sometimes a person needs that extra rest. I know when I was on Gemzar, there were quite a few times I had to delay it. As far as the CA 125, mine did raise up a tiny bit after 3 infusions of Avastin, but the nurse said that does happen. Sometimes I wish they wouldn't do the CA 125 so often, because when it goes up, it does make a person worry. Anyway, I think you are an incredibly strong person and I sometimes wish I could be like you.0
