Hi, sounds like your Mom has
Hi, sounds like your Mom has made awesome progress! I too, have one chemo left. I have found my appetite declining as I get close to the end of chemo. In fact after the last one I had terrible metallic metal mouth for a few days and all I wanted to do was drink water. I've chalked it up to the cumulative effects of chemo. Lack of appetite wasn't one of my pre DX symptoms. Good luck on completion of her chemo!0 -

number! Chemo is so toxic and has cumulative effects, so yes, it could be chemo. When was her last scan?
You have been through so much, I'm sure the stress is cumulative for your emotions!
Take care,
kathleen
I think no appetite is not unusual. But I understand your concern. The osteopath that is taking care of me has told me that he has seen several patients who were cured of cancer but died of malnutrition/cachexia so this is good that you are aware of the problem.
This is something to report to the doctor. There is a prescription medication to help with appetite called Marinol. See if the doctor thinks it is something your mom could try.0 -
Poor appetite
I would suspect that your mum has had a poor appetite that has just gotton worse. Chemo has an accumulative effect and by now her poor appettite may just have gotton her down. I am sat in bed after my #5 chemo 2 days ago and the thought of eating something makes me feel sick. I make myself eat because it takes away the nausea for a while but it comes back.
What I am trying to say it is temporary and will pass after 5 or 6 days and her appetite will return.
It is hard when you are looking after your mum because you feel helpless to do anything (I know this as I lost my mum to bowel cancer 2 years ago) but try to keep positive as when she comes off the chemo she will get her appetite back.
