Yes, Melissa, I'm Still Here!
Just haven't been on a whole lot lately. Today it is 2 weeks since my dad passed away. And we just had the funeral last week. Everything is so very fresh in my mind. I think I am still in a little bit of shock. I know my mother is still walking around in a daze. Like you know, it's just so incredibly hard and painful.
I keep reliving the last days with him in the hospital. It seem like just yesterday. You wonder if you said the right things, did the right things and hope that he felt loved.
We had a beautiful memorial service for him last Thursday. So many people came. Most of them I didn't know, but they had known him and remembered him as a "gentle giant", "quiet" and a "deep thinker". What was so surprising is that so many of his friends, people that have known him for 20 and 30 years, had know idea he painted, did woodworking or played the flamenco guitar. He never had the need to tell anyone because it was for his own enjoyment. His private flamenco guitar instructor from a couple of years ago even came and played at his service. It was so beautiful:)
Anyway... didn't mean to get carried away. Just need to do some "talking" I guess. God has been faithfully by my side, but as you know, that doesn't take away the pain we still feel. It will be awhile I'm sure, before the raw hurt starts to heal over.
Thank you for your thoughts and "checking in":) It's so sweet of you. I will continue to check in on the boards and I'm still praying for everyone on here that is going through this crappy EC journey.
Blessings to you!

Hello Sally,
I am so sorry you are having to go through the pain of losing your father. I do know as well as you that you do have the Lord going through it with you. He is giving you the strength and grace to deal with it. I will continue to keep you and your mother in my prayers.
