Melanie......CEA lookin good !!!!!Lori-S said:Hey Mel
Good luck! Sending out some good vibes for a great CT for Chris.
should have a great scan......
billirubin....Hyperbilirubinemia is where the bilirubin level in the blood is higher than normal.
Mild rises in bilirubin may be caused by:
* Hemolysis or increased breakdown of red blood cells
* Gilbert's syndrome - a genetic disorder of bilirubin metabolism which can result in mild jaundice, found in about 5% of the population
* Rotor syndrome: non-itching jaundice, with rise of bilirubin in the patient's serum, mainly of the conjugated type.
Moderate rise in bilirubin may be caused by:
* Drugs (especially antipsychotic, some sex hormones, and a wide range of other drugs)
* Hepatitis (levels may be moderate or high)
* Chemotherapy
So the billirubin is up for one of two reasons....either chemotherapy or sex hormones...either way, not to worry..........Tell him hang in there.........love to you both.......buzz0 -
