colonoscopy coming up

Hi all, my colonoscopy is coming up next week. I chose the Colytyte prep. I am a nervous wreck. The prep is murder for me as I don't have a rectum and I have no control. I just dread it. And also, the pain. Just wanted to share that. You would think I would be used to this by now being 7 years NED (thank God). Do any of you get that nervous? Any suggestions would help. I know drinking through a straw helps. Oh how I hate this. Any input would be appreciated. Annette

It's only natural
that you feel nervous before the colonoscopy. Doubt that there's any way around feeling that way other than to tell yourself not worry about something until you know you have to. Good luck and be sure to let us know how you get along. I get nervous when they take my blood pressure! Just can't help it. It's SO encouraging that you are 7 years NED.

I feel your pain, just had
I feel your pain, just had my colonoscopy today. The prep is awful as you know but we get throught it. I started getting a migraine this morning, ( lack of coffee for 2 days) and was a complete mess by the time the test came, but the doc took pity on me a dn gaveme a little something in the IV to help the headache. But I got the all clear so all is good, hang in there!

Good luck with it
Besides drinking through a straw, make sure the solution is very cold. It helps a tad.

Good luck on your procedure. Can't wait for you to come back with the all clear!

colon no more

colonoscopy coming up
I have one coming up this year. they say you can mix crystal light lemonade powder with it and it will taste a little better. I tried that last time and it helped for the first few glasses, but thats all. I have a colostomy bag and it sure does fill up quick. I just cringe just writing about it. sure wish there was a better way to prep you.
