poo question

in Colorectal Cancer #1
I am not constipated, nor is it diarrhea- but I am having some issues with stool. The consistency is great- I think any colon person would be pleased. However, I am not. I am wishing for a cleaner exit. I am going through various rolls of paper and/or wipes and still feeling like the remains are "glued" on. This morning I just jumped in the shower and took the bath brush and scrubbed heck out of my backside and now my butt is really SORE. I am thinking for the long term here I need some changes in my diet- maybe bulking up my stool will help? Any suggestions? thanks

    I am sorry you have this this issue to deal with. I don't really had advice, but Krista started a similar thread. I asked her about a bidet; I think they leave you feeling clean. I hope you can resove this soon.

    Perhaps an ultra toilet
    I have seen an 'ultra toilet' on home reno programs. It does everything but go for you...lol.

    Has a bidet like divice built in and even has a fan to blow you dry.

    Might take some hunting to find one, and will likely be pricey but certainly less than a move to a new house.

    Me too!
    There might be room in our basement bathroom. Somehow I think a lot of Japanese toilets are a combo toilet/bidet amongst other things. Would a sitz bath help?

    This is not an endorcement but just something I found surfing the net.

    C3 Toilet Seats with Bidet Functionality by Kohler

    On this one it looks like it would fit on standard toilet. It says it doesn't need any special plumbing just an electrical outlet near the toilet.

    Metamucil
    Metamucil may help you. One or two teaspoon full in a few ounces of water with every meal. Kind of glues things together and kind of gives every thing a jello-like coating. Cleanup has been easier for me. Cholestyramine (requires a prescription) can do this also. Makes things a tittle too gloppy for me - like jelly instead of jello, but is slightly better at clumping and covering. I eat no more than two cups of food in a meal and this helps Metamucil or Cholestyramine do their job a bi better.

    I hate to be a pooh-head Patteee but what about age? :) I have the same symptoms and I do not think it is cancer or chemo related....

    is a bum a little flabby? does the old sphincter not expel as well......sorry....haha

    I use aloe verae wipes.....and bathe often....

    Patteee.....you should come to my cottage for the summer.....just an outhouse and no running water or bathroom....just that big lovely clean COLD lake

    Japanese Toilet Seat
    I know that the Japanese Toilet seats can do just about everything. ( including play music!! ) I was too chicken to try it out last year when I was in Tokyo ( I didn't want to flood out the apartment I was renting! ) I know they sell these seats online and in Asian areas in the USA.

    I had thought about the hose to the sink/tub option...might work, but the bathroom might get soaked!. I used to have a battery operated camping shower sprayer that you drop a small hose into water and it gently sprays.....not much pressure, but this might be better?
