Anyone have headaches with rads?

Options
I've had 8 treatments so far, and had a headache after each one. I will see the rads onc on Tues and ask him also. I've made it this far on the roller coaster because you have all been there with me, so I really value your input.

Hugs,

Linda

    No
no headaches with rads, just tired towards the end.

I'm sorry you're having them, though, and I hope there's an easy fix.

    Hi Linda
Yes you have and radiaiton zaps the energy out of you and with sometimes headaches occur. I suffered head aches constantly and started suffer migrains though I had never really had one before. My mother suffers greatly from them and also has problems sleeping something I see now to have inherited from her. I am just grateful I didn't suffer my whole life with it since my sister had to and my brother got the trouble sleeping. Now older I seem to be the one getting it all.
The trick is to really treat the head aches and not let them go on. A Pain specialist told me that often times when people get on medications they are treating the with drawl since they stop when headache subsides. If in pain a long time the brain can think it is still in pain when it is not if don't treat the pain. Interesting how our bodies have side affects from suffering too.

    I never had any headaches
I never had any headaches with Rads - actually I've had very few headaches in my life. I did get horrible pain/pressure around right eye approx 6 mths after last Rad. 2 weeks of 1 DEX a day took care of it. Did have another CT to rule out any 'issues' and an appt with eye Dr to rule out any eye problems - there were none and the pain/pressure stopped as fast as it started. All Drs' idea is that for some unknown reason a nerve got 'irratated' and the Dex alloowed it to 'calm down'.

    Talk to your Dr.

    3days and counting
I've only had three days Linda so far so good I have a lump feeling in my throat and that is one of the symptoms of the chest and neck area that get radiated. They gave me a book called "radiation therapy and you" before my treatments so i could read and get familiar with all the symptoms,You get the Hyperfractionated radiation therapy twice a day which is smaller doses I read where your kind of radiation side effects are more severe but with your kind you'll have fewer late side effects so hang in there "G U R L",the best is yet to come. Rads never gave me
Rads never gave me headaches. Be sure and tell your rads oncologist about this. Could it be stress headaches maybe?

    No headaches for me either,
No headaches for me either, but, like Victoria said, I was exhausted by the end of rads.

    No!
    No headaches.

Report everything to your doctor as we all react differently, If you did not have headaches before the rads and now you do, I would think that the rads is the culprit. Tell doctor right away. Hopefully they can help you with them.

    Lots of Hugs,

    Linda, I did not have
Linda, I did not have headaches either time (1987 and 2009), but we are all so different. I did feel a little anxious and claustrophobic at times and I can see those feelings leading to a headache. Do discuss this or any new symptom (of course) with your doc as you know they always want to check out everything on us. You are in my prayers sweet lady.

    Linda: I did have have
Linda: I did have have headaches with radiation and at times they were so bad that I could not concentrate. My rads onco said that it is not a side effect, thought I had a sinus infection, put on antibiotics twice, once I finished with rads about a week later the headaches went away. I have found that now when I get a headache, they are worse than they used to be, but I think that may be because we all tend to become more intuned with our bodies and notice things that we didnt notice before.
