Hernia repair is much easier that what Don has been dealing with
Reba,
I have had a hernia repaired. Just like with an esophagectomy there is a laparoscopic approach that only uses a couple small incisions. Recovery time is usually a week or two with the laparoscopic approach. They usually push the herniated abdominal contents back where they belong and then reinforce the abdominal wall with some surgical screen and sew things back up. Not really bad at all in comparison to what you have been dealing with up until now. I had mine done as an outpatient. I was at the hospital at 7:00 AM and home by noon.
So glad it is not a recurrence!!!!

Thanks Paul for your encouragement. I'll let you know what the next step will be.
