After Mastectomy and Reconstruction - Arms

I am having alot of trouble with my left arm. I have been through with mastectomy and reconstruction since October. My cancer was on the right side and lymph nodes taken out on that side but the left side shoulder and arm are causing me some problems. I do not notice any swelling but find that I cannot do some things with this arm. I was wondering if anyone else has had these issues and if it is normal after mastectomy.

Hmmm--this is curious
My first thought was--are you doing way more than you used to with your left arm, since the mastectomy and lymph node removal was on the right? I know I am. Mine's the opposite, but I don't do any heavy lifting, etc. with my "bad" side anymore, so my good side really gets a little over-worked at times. Could be you're just over-working that good arm, trying to protect the surgery side.
